Presentation of the A.M.I. Encyclopedia

A Natural Product Designer® Service

A.M.I. (Alban Muller International) is the expert in natural raw materials and in particular plant extracts. It has explored and highlighted the wealth of the plant world for 30 years. The group has become world famous: it helps professionals in the industries of Beauty, Health, and Well-Being develop eco-responsible, natural products.

These teams have now studied 500 species. Thanks to this knowledge, the Group edited a CD-Rom in 1997, containing a large number of plants for cosmetic and phytotherapy use. The database met such a huge success that 3 years ago, Alban Muller gave his team of specialists the mission of working to build a more comprehensive and efficient tool.

And the new generation A.M.I. Encyclopedia was born! It is now accessible on Internet. New contents on 250 plants (and 350 soon!) for use in cosmetics, phytotherapy and well-being food (food supplements and functional foods, for example) are now available in French and English with a dynamic and user-friendly navigator.

All about Beauty, Health, and Well-Being Plants

The A.M.I. Encyclopedia is a practical and educational working tool for professionals in the marketing, communications, and R&D fields of the cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical industries. The tool also serves scientists and teachers, offering user-friendly files and tabs:

  • Characteristics: family, morphological type, habitat, climate zone, manufacturing area, region of origin;
  • Botanical description;
  • History, tradition, etymology and legends;

For each plant, specific information is available regarding the plant part(s) used (fruit, leaf, flower, seed, etc.):

  • A chemical composition including the list of molecules according to a hierarchy;
  • Use in phytotherapy, food, and/or cosmetics.
